Table Sanctioning Regulations
§ 1 Introduction
The following information explains the requirements, procedures and benefits of an international table manufacturer applying & receiving their table sanctioned by the European Pocket Billiard Federation (hereinafter referred to as the EPBF).
§ 2 Categories
To have a clear overview, pool tables are subdivided in the following categories:
Category A – Match tables
Category B – All other tables
§ 3 Category A
In this category, only EPBF Match Tables will be certified. Category A is the highest category and the tables have to be inspected and approved by an EPBF representative. The inspection will be done to make sure that the table has the correct measurements according to the EPBF specification catalogue § 01 till § 12. EPBF Sanctioned tournaments category A and B (with exception of the Women's Euro Tour events) has to be held on these EPBF Sanctioned Category A tables. Companies will receive a certificate & sticker, EPBF Table Category A.
§ 4 Category B
In this category, all other tables can be certified. The tables have to be inspected by an EPBF representative. The inspection will be done to make sure that the table has the correct measurements according to the EPBF specification catalogue § 01 till § 11. EPBF Sanctioned events in Category C and lower can be held on these EPBF Sanctioned Category B tables. Companies will receive a certificate & sticker, EPBF Table Category B.
§ 5 Wild Cards
All companies who receive EPBF Sanctioning Category A will receive 2 Wild Cards for all Euro Tour events in a sanctioned year. All companies who receive EPBF Sanctioning Category B will receive 1 Wild Card for all Euro Tour events in that sanctioned year. These wild cards are to be used only for players who are not in the top 60 of the Euro Tour Ranking
§ 6 Sanction fees
Category A: For tables in category A, the sanctioning fee is 2500 € per year.
Category B: For tables in category B, the sanctioning fee is 1500 € per year.
In both Categories the Manufacturer will have to cover the inspection costs. (During the application process, a date and time for the visit will be agreed)
§ 7 Application for sanctioning
Any manufacturer of pool tables who wants to file an application for sanctioning can only do so by sending the request, using the official application form (see § 10).
§ 8 Sanctioning Procedure
Upon receipt of an application (see § 10), the EPBF Representative will:
1. Review the requested application
2. Inform the applicant of the following possible dates for the inspection
3. Upon arrival, inspect the mentioned tables according to the EPBF
4. Inform the applicant of the following:
a. Confirm if the Sanctioning is approved.
b. The category in which the table will be classified.
c. What the total sanction costs are.
d. What terms or payments they shall be expected to pay.
§ 9 Promotion
Mentioning of the company name and table brand in the EPBF Specifications
catalogue under EPBF Sanctioned Tables Category A and/or B, which will
be sent out at the beginning of March each year and will be available through
the EPBF website.
